The creative and enterprising Entrepreneurs team at Avenue empowers participants to design, launch and run their own business ideas.

Participants are supported to go through six training modules that are designed to build their independence and confidence and help them achieve a goal of running their own business, earn an income and access the economy.

They master how to market their ideas via their own website, or via social media. Participants also have the opportunity to sell their products via the Avenue Shop website or through the Avenue Markets team.

Natesha is taking her passion for cooking to the next level!

With the help of her support team at Avenue, she has been working incredibly hard on creating her own brand of homemade jams and chutneys, called – ‘Natesha’s Pantry’.

Natesha was taught to cook by her mother and grandmother and is passionate about traditional family recipes with fresh ingredients. Now, she’s ready to share this passion with the world through her new business. Her long term goal is to have enough product demand that she can expand to new flavours, partner with cafes to sell her product and have financial independence.

Team member Vanessa is the face behind Pink Lady Hair Care. Her product is environmentally friendly, chemical free and comes in an easy-to-hold bag, making it accessible to not only people with disability, but the elderly and children too.

When thinking of a business idea, Vanessa came up with Pink Lady Hair Care as she wanted to be able to wash her own hair without relying on others.

Georgia is an entrepreneur from our Frenchs Forest hub and is the proud business owner of GC Creations which designs and produces bath salts. Georgia finds inspiration in colour and has a passion for beauty products that are beneficially healthy, which is how she came to create 8 different fragrances each designed to lull you into full serenity and relaxation. GC Creations Bath Shots are available online at Avenue Shop and from Avenue Markets.

Maxine

Maxine is a team member of the Avenue Entrepreneurs in Newcastle and with the support of her team has recently completed her own 9000 word memoir! The Story of Charlotte is the story of Maxine’s life – narrated through the eyes of her main character, Charlotte. Maxine writes honestly and openly about her trials and experiences as a woman living with a disability and the daily challenges she has overcome. You can download her book on Amazon here.

Team member Glenn has turned his passion for painting into a career and has created his own business called Glenn & Co designs. Through the support at Avenue Entrepreneurs, Glenn has been able to turn his art into sell out products including mugs and facemasks and is expanding to tote bags in the near future.

Art by Ash Rose was founded by Avenue entrepreneur team member Ashleigh, who has a passion for anything creative. Ash Rose makes pieces using beautiful textures and bright colours and turns her brightly coloured artworks into original products such as greeting cards, scarves and stationery. She explores many different mediums such as drawing, painting and, more recently, ceramics

Josh is an artist in the Avenue Newcastle Entrepreneurs team. He sells his work on Redbubble.com, a print-on-demand platform that enables him to share his artwork. So far, Josh has sold over 70 products, from phone cases to scarves to Christmas Cards. The inspiration for his patterns and designs comes from his love of nature and how it makes him feel. His intention is to inspire others who also have a disability to go out and chase their dreams.

Avenue Entrepreneur Kade, has a passion for anything to do with candle making and started his own candle business called, King Kade & Co.

In this photo he was presenting his business pitch to the Avenue team. The presentation was a huge achievement for Kade, he was nervous at first but presented really well and we were incredibly proud of him!

His candles come in various different sizes, fragrances and colours and are available on the Avenue Shop website.

 

Avenue is a day program alternative where people of all abilities are supported to complete work tasks, socialise and develop their individual skills, regardless of their support needs.
